Arthur Rackham. I found him while looking up "famous illustrators". He did illustrations in the late 1800's and early 1900's for books like:
- Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm (1900)
- Rip van Winkle (1905)
- Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens (50 colour plates, 1906)
- Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (13 colour plates, 1907)

I've seen his work before, especially the Alice in Wonderland pictures. I did not know his name either. Thanks for pointing him out!
